A customer from the rail transport industry wanted to automatically monitor central parts of the infrastructure in order to reduce the probability of failure and to achieve cost savings through optimizing the maintenance planning.

Particularly challenging in this context was to ensure the unattended function of the device over several years, which required intensive interaction of the electronics and software disciplines.
